Pause for breath and short holiday debrief

Islay-Ardbeg-4639
Ooh, a fairly free evening. Shame I'm so knackered. Since I got back, I have mostly been taking Greek lessons, sleeping, and sorting through holiday photos.

The big collection of holiday pics, split up into events, is here. If you just want to see the ones that I liked best, head over to the Islay Favourites set.

Much fun was had with André, Dave Dave, Bob Dave, and Kavey and Pete. And I enjoyed practising with the new camera, and I definitely got better as the week went on -- whether that was because of the practice or just because I got more relaxed the further I got into the holiday, I don't know...

Random and incomplete list of things I enjoyed:

  • Haggis

  • Tasting exceptionally lovely (and far beyond my price-range) whisky

  • The Bruichladdich open day, especially Robin Laing's fabulous song, "We Can't Let Al' Quaeda Get Their Hands On This"

  • Sheep! Baaaaaa!

  • Trying to take good photos of fast-moving small birds, and mostly failing dismally

  • Going for a walkClimbing a mountain

  • Banoffie Pie!

  • Mucho conversation

  • Kildalton, Kilnave and Finlaggan

  • Cows! Moooooo!

Anyway. That'll do for now; I've got to get about eleventy-four things done before I finally drop into my bed this evening...

I think I'm pegging the geek meter right now. I'm watching William Gibson's No Maps for these Territories. In a virtual cinema in Second Life.

Just stumbled across the Pen-It. Which is a pen and pad where you can write stuff on the pad with the pen. Not particularly revolutionary,…
