Reinquiznation

By way of fox_c. No, it's not the "post a picture of yourself right now" meme; I'm a bit behind on my LJ...

Your result for Reincarnation Placement Exam...

Reclusive Artist

51% Intrigue, 59% Civilization, 40% Humanity, 40% Urbanization.

We think we've found a place for you.

Your answers indicate that you're very fond of the fruits of civilization... for example, education and technology. But, in some twist of irony, you're not too fond of the pressures of civilization... you know, human beings and crowds and working together. We found you a place where you could enjoy an erudite existence, live a life that's intriguing and not entirely secure -- but far from the madding crowd.

Removed from civilization and humanity, yet educated and sophisticated, you'll make the perfect reclusive artist... An eccentric that produces irresistibly attractive masterpieces. Your art will make people swoon, and yet you will despise your audience. Your audience will probably dislike you as well, though they will go on admiring your work. So it all balances out, and your patrons will leave you alone to shape beauty in the wild, dangerous parts of the world where people won't pester you so much. Probably, you will write under a pseudonym, and mutter a lot when a rare admirer comes calling. If you feel really adventurous, you can pursue the role of a political dissident.

As you age, you will grow into the role of an incorrigible curmudgeon.

You artists, you're all the same.

They got the books part right :)

Tralfamadorian Messenger

We had trouble placing you, but finally found just the thing... for someone who adores technology and knowledge, but doesn't care for much else. Intrigue and adventure? Not important to you, evidently. The company of your fellows? Not to your tastes. The bustle and crowd of the city? Not for you. Were it not for your positive attitude toward modern technology, we would have made you a medieval monk and let you live out your days in a quaint little cell, with access to all the books you could possibly want to read. But instead...

You will be a mechanical being, born on a planet where machines have long ago taken completely over and organic life has become extinct. You will be sent as a messenger to the other end of the galaxy with a message of good will -- a journey of approximately 205,125 years. The message reads: "Greetings."

Hello. Goodbye. We hope you have an satisfactory journey.

Re: They got the books part right :)

Heh. Did they perhaps catch you on a day when you're feeling slightly antisocial? I'm sure it's reading all this stuff about Pollock recently that tipped me into the Reclusive Artist category...

Re: They got the books part right :)

Heh. Oops, you've got me fair and square.

I tend to get more antisocial as the week goes on. Especially when some numpties in work fail to read the second line of a 2 line email and start gurning.

Starfleet Crewperson

56% Intrigue, 59% Civilization, 63% Humanity, 50% Urbanization.

As Mister Spock would say: Fascinating. It seems you've managed to hit the edge of the curve on all metrics. An extraordinary life is almost certain.

According to your answers, you want it all, you want a lot of it, and you're willing to do what it takes to get it! Adventure! Romance! Technology! Challenge! You love civilization. You like people. You love the complications and joys of a big, weird crowd of humans plus lots of other beings wandering into dangerous and complicated corners of the galaxy.

There is an ideal place for you, and you are ideal for it: Welcome to the crew of the starship Enterprise. Captain Kirk would have welcomed you aboard himself, but his head was too big to fit in the landing bay.

Heh. I guess your questions tended to favour more work and less play than mine.

The work questions were the hardest for me; I answered them as if "work" meant "work at your current job" rather than "work as you'd ideally like it to be". I think I'd happily work 12-hour days on the Enterprise; they all seem to enjoy their jobs...
